"Tabaseya" had been renovated from a 90-year-old shed over a period of 10 years, and now serves as a base facility for revitalization efforts in the town. The program affiliate Mr. Ogawa is involved in forestry work and offers hands-on experiences including forestry activities such as the periodic thinning of trees as well as carving activities using chainsaws. For families, activities where you can experience the beauty and richness of the woods and water, such as mushroom-collecting, wasabi-harvesting, and wild vegetable-harvesting, are also available. In addition, you can make wooden and bamboo charcoal with charcoal kilns, and take part in soba-making as well as konnyaku-making activities. Through these activities based in the forest, you can learn not only about the beauty of nature, but also the challenges involved and environmental problems that we are facing today.

Place the sweet potatoes you have harvested from the fields on the traditional wood stove to bake them!
