From mid-March to late October, you can experience yamame trout fishing. For an extra charge, you can also enjoy salt-grilled trout.

There is a Furusato (hometown) Experience Village on a hillside in the Chugoku Mountains, close to Hiroshima Prefecture. As the name of the "Experience village" suggests, there are many experiences to be had, including cooking experiences such as buckwheat noodle-making, and crafting experiences such as vegetable dyeing and weaving. The rich menu of experiences also includes outdoor experiences such as hiking and campfires, and nature experiences such as picking wild vegetables and hunting for mushrooms. Yamame trout fishing in the upper reaches of the river is particularly popular. Fishing rod rental is available, and caught yamame trout can be grilled and eaten. Accommodations in old private homes and bungalows make this area recommended for long-term leisure, too.
