A 150-year-old Japanese-style residence located in the town of Tatara

人のご縁も旅のつながり。

Yoshida-cho of Izumo City is regarded as the king of mountains and forests, and is home to the Tabe family who used to operate the local Tatara furnaces. Even today, it is a town where you can still find old townscapes of the past with local residents leading a relaxed way of life. The tourism inn "Wakatsukiya" is located on the main street of Yoshida-cho, and is a former residence of the village headman that was built 150 years ago. It features stunningly massive pillars and bears features that are frequently studied by visiting architects. The first floor is open to the general public and houses the "Yamasato Cafe Hashiman" where guests can enjoy lunch and tea, while guest rooms for accommodation are on the second floor. Guests are served a delicious and vibrantly colored "Seasonal Set Meal" for dinner, which features ingredients such as local pesticide-free vegetables and seasonal fruits.
