Enjoy fishing in the waters of the Sea of Japan from a fishing boat

人のご縁も旅のつながり。

"Shimaya" is a guesthouse overlooking the "Iwami Tatamigaura," a wave-cut platform formed from strata around 1600 years ago. Here, you can charter a fishing boat from the fishing port right before your eyes and get involved in an authentic fishing experience from the fishing boat. In order to catch delicious seasonal fish, fishermen travel to offshore fishing points using a fish-finding device. Even beginners can enjoy this activity with a peace of mind as the fishermen will provide guidance on everything from how to attach the bait to fishing tips. Fish that you caught can be cooked and served as a side dish for dinner that day.
Visitors who prefer not to ride boats can fish at the wharf or participate in hands-on activities such as making salted squid entrails and drying squid overnight.

The Japanese sea bream is known in Shimane as "renkodai."

The fishing boats are equipped with automated reels. Aim to catch some big fish as well!

A residence with the expansive waters of the Sea of Japan right before your eyes. You can also walk to "Iwami Tatamigaura."
