Enjoy Iwami Kagura with the residents of a seaside town

人のご縁も旅のつながり。

A practice session of Iwami Kagura Hashi Troupe held at an assembly site in Hashi

Hashi in Gotsu City is a coastal town along the Sea of Japan with beautiful, pristine beaches. This town had flourished in the past as a site that manufactured Iwamiyaki ceramic "hando (water bottles)" that were sold on sailboats everywhere from Hokkaido to Kyushu. The guesthouse "Nami no Oto" is the house of a shipowner from those days.
Here, you can participate in activities such as smelt-fishing and exploring the town of Hashi on foot. On Mondays and Saturdays, you can watch Iwami Kagura practice sessions that are held in the town. These may just be practice sessions but they are full of energy. You can experience the memorable sight of everyone in the town, regardless of age and gender, gathering together. Once you catch a glimpse of Iwami Kagura behind the scenes, you will be able to enjoy the actual performances even more.
