Nashi no Kihara is located in the neighboring town from the UNESCO World Heritage site "Iwami Ginzan." This mountain village is built on an elevated plateau, from which "Mt. Sanbe" featured in Izumo's land-dragging myth can be seen. Here, you can participate in hands-on activities that allow you to experience the rural way of life, such as picking seasonal vegetables and fruits. As the open-air bath is a Goemon bath, the firewood is made using a wood-splitting machine before the bath is filled with water and a fire is started to bring the water to a boil. Don't miss this rare experience of manually heating up the bath on your own! The Goemon bath will warm up the core of your body. At night, you can look up to the starry sky, take in the refreshing air, and listen to the sounds of birds and insects that will rejuvenate your mind.

Period All year
Fee ¥2,000
Things to bring Apron
Necessity of reservation Please place your reservation at least one week in advance.
Experience content We use soba powder that is made by using a stone mill to grind the seeds of buckwheat grown by farmers in Oda City. Mr. Kazuo, who began making soba eight years ago, will guide you through the process carefully. The neatly cut soba noodles are cooked in boiling water in a pot behind the house. Here, every step is performed by hand.
Once the soba noodles are ready, they are quickly placed into cold water. The freshly cooked soba noodles are so fragrant that they are delicious even when eaten plain.
Making them into soba salad and soba karinto (deep-fried snack) are also great ways to enjoy the soba noodles.
